Artwork & Design Guidelines

At Orbit Multiprint, we are committed to providing premium printing quality and precise finishing on every job. To achieve consistent and professional results, it is important that all artwork files meet the following detailed technical requirements. Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting your artwork for production.

1. File Format

We accept the following file formats for printing:

  • CorelDRAW (.CDR) – Most preferred format for all types of printing jobs as it ensures accuracy, editable vectors, and clear output.
  • PDF (.PDF) – High-resolution PDFs exported in CMYK mode with fonts converted to curves are acceptable.
  • JPEG (.JPG) and TIFF (.TIF) – Suitable for bitmap-based artwork. Ensure that resolution is at least 300 DPI for crisp, sharp prints.

Avoid sending Word, PowerPoint, or low-resolution image files. These are not suitable for professional printing.

2. Fonts and Text

  • Convert all fonts to curves/outlines before submission to prevent font substitution or shifting.
  • Maintain at least a 5 mm safety margin from the trim line for all important text and logos.
  • Avoid small font sizes (below 6pt) and fine lines, as these may not print cleanly.
  • Double-check spelling and alignment before submission.

3. Colour Mode and Settings

  • All artwork must be created and submitted in CMYK mode only. RGB colours are not supported and may lead to unexpected results.
  • Avoid using 4-colour builds for single tones (e.g., C6, M70, Y35, K30), as they can produce uneven colour patches.
  • For specific colour matching in special print jobs, please send a digital colour printout or sample reference so our team can match shades as closely as possible.
  • For UV, Foil, Embossing, or any special process printing jobs, please send only a CorelDRAW (.CDR) file with proper separation layers for each effect. This ensures perfect registration and precise finishing.
  • Do not use spot colours (Pantone) or registration colours (C100, M100, Y100, K100) unless specified for special printing processes.

4. Images and Effects

  • Embedded images must be 300 DPI or higher at final print size.
  • Avoid scaling or enlarging low-resolution images.
  • Avoid scaling or enlarging low-resolution images.
  • Do not use scale with images in Outline mode; always use Behind Fill in outlines to maintain layer accuracy.
  • Keep black text as 100% K (C0, M0, Y0, K100) for sharp results.

5. Bleed and Safety Margins

  • Add a 5 mm bleed on all sides of your artwork to avoid white edges after trimming.
  • Keep all vital design elements (text, logos, borders) at least 5 mm inside the trim line.
  • Files without bleed may cause cutting issues and can delay your order.

6. Reference and Samples

  • Refer to our sample diagrams and templates to ensure your artwork fits the product size and layout correctly.
  • If unsure about file setup, contact our prepress team before sending your final file to avoid rework or misprints.
